About Us

About the Clinic Staff

We are very proud of our staff at Bay Eye Clinic, many of whom have been with us for over 20 years. From the receptionists to the ophthalmic technicians to the billing department, they are committed to providing you with excellent service.

Our receptionist staff will assist you from start to finish. When you call to make your appointment, Jennifer or Jasmine will help you to schedule it.

Tonda, or Lauren will check you in for your appointment, and Bryan will be at the checkout desk when you leave. Todd is working hard to digitize all of our paper records and will help you find the information you need.

Our technicians are led by Diana Stern, Certified Ophthalmic Assistant (COA). Diana has been at Bay Eye Clinic for over 19 years. Ted, Melissa, Rachel, and Taylor are Certified Ophthalmic Assistants. Becca, Courtney, Hailey, Jacob, Kari, and Katie are Ophthalmic Assistants.

Melissa is our main contact lens technician. She is trained to fit all types of contact lenses including those needed for medical reasons.

Jeremy and Leah bring assistance to multiple departments within the clinic. IT, website, and social media services are overseen by Jeremy. Leah assists in administrative duties, although you may catch a glimpse of her at the front desk.

Our surgery counselor, Serena, will schedule your surgery and answer questions you have regarding surgery. Serena schedules surgeries to be performed at Bay Area Hospital, Peace Harbor Hospital and Bay Eye Surgery Center.

Nicole, Sheila, Shirley, and Summer are in our billing department. They may contact you before your appointment in order to streamline your check-in process. If you call our billing office or come in with billing questions, you'll most likely talk with Nicole, Shirley, or Summer

Bay Eye Clinic is managed by Mary Houghton, Certified Ophthalmic Assistant and Certified Ophthalmic Surgical Assistant. Mary joined the clinic in 1992.

SCHEDULING APPOINTMENTS

Routine appointments are scheduled for weekdays between 7:45 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. When calling for an appointment, be sure to state the reason for the appointment, if you are a contact lens wearer, and any specific concerns that you may have.

When setting up your appointment, you will be sent a link, which will allow you to use our patient portal to supply/update information regarding your past medical history and demographic information including insurance. Bring your insurance cards with you to your appointment.

Call (541) 756-2584 or 1-800-422-9393 and one of our office staff will be pleased to help you. Contact lens wearers will require a separate appointment on the same or possibly a different day depending on the initial exam or other circumstances.
